AN ANDOVER man has been charged with rape and sexual assault following investigations into a reported incident in town.
Officers investigating the rape of a woman in Andover have charged Daniel Wardrop, 23, of Launcelot Close in Andover.
Police said Wardrop has been charged with rape and sexual assault by penetration.
This comes after a woman in her 20s reported having been raped in South Street at around 4am on Monday, April 10.
Wardrop has been remanded in custody and appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates Court on April 12 where he was further remanded.
He is next due to appear before Winchester Crown Court on 10 May.
