AFTER years of trying for a place in the London Marathon, 2023 is the year that one Andover pet enthusiast’s bucket list wish comes true.
Tracey Dawber has been training hard to ensure she puts her best foot forward when she runs to raise money for Dogs Trust on Sunday, April 23.
Tracey said: “I’m thrilled to have the chance to participate in this year’s London Marathon and raise money for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. I’m so excited to lace up my shoes and smash that finish line.”
The London Marathon will be Tracey's first marathon.

“It’s taken months of physical and mental preparation to get me to this point, but it’s not just about the physical and mental aspects,” said Tracey. “It’s also about the emotional investment and drive to make a difference. It’s been tough, but every day I remind myself why I’m doing this for such a fantastic cause, and it gives me the strength to keep going.”
Tracey, who is mum to her beloved dog Noodles and daughter Tabitha, works as a franchise support manager at Petpals, a pet care brand that places high value on providing pets with top-quality care and support. When a dog is in distress, needs a home, or owners need a helping hand, Dogs Trust is there.
“Since joining Petpals, I’ve seen first-hand the incredible bond between pets and their owners,” Tracey said. “It’s a relationship built on love, trust and loyalty, and it’s something that we at Petpals are passionate about preserving through our pet-preferred pet care services. That’s why I’ve chosen Dogs Trust as the charity I’m supporting at this year’s London Marathon. Their tireless efforts to provide care and support to dogs in need are truly inspiring."

Tracey added: “I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me so far; I appreciate all the well wishes and every penny you can spare. It means the world to me and Dogs Trust.”
Director of Petpals Kevin Thackrah said: “Tracey’s passion for pets and commitment to their wellbeing is a true reflection of what our brand stands for. Tracey’s participation in this year’s London Marathon is a testament to that commitment. I’m proud to be supporting her and Dogs Trust. Good luck Tracey!”
