Andover's gardening fair proves success with visitors

On Monday, May 1, Andover Business Improvement District (BID), in conjunction with Test Valley Borough Council, hosted a successful Gardening Fair on Spring bank holiday Monday.

The event attracted a diverse audience of gardening enthusiasts, families, and people interested in learning more about gardening. It also featured stalls from local businesses, offering a range of gardening tools, seeds, plants, and other related products. There were workshops and games for children, food, and uplifting entertainment.

"We are thrilled with the turnout and the positive feedback we received from attendees”, said BID event organiser Shelley Coburn.

She continued: "It demonstrates how events like this can benefit local businesses and people in the community."

Established to support businesses and promote economic growth in the area, the BID aims to drive footfall and stimulate trade in the High Street by organising events like the gardening fair. The event attracted visitors to the town centre and encouraged them to shop locally. It provided opportunities for businesses to network and collaborate with one another.

"We are proud to work to host events like the gardening fair, which brings the community together and showcases the value of the BID to the high street," said Steve Godwin, BID manager.

He continued: "This event demonstrates the benefit of investing in our local businesses and working together to create a thriving town centre. When BID was established, one of its aims was to establish quality events to support our large number of town centre businesses and this event effectively did that."

The Andover BID, in conjunction with Test Valley Borough Council, plans to continue to host more events like this in the future to keep promoting the town centre and supporting businesses.
