TEN pubs have made the shortlist of this year's Pub of the Year competition - and now the battle is on to gain the most votes.
The joint Basingstoke Gazette and Andover Advertiser competition seeks to crown the best boozer in the area.
Hundreds of nominations were sent in by readers and those with the most votes have now made our shortlist.
Readers are being asked to show their support for their favourite by cutting out the voting slip available in this week's Basingstoke Gazette or Andover Advertiser and returning by June 18.
The pub with the most votes will be crowned the winner.
Editor Kimberley Barber said: "We all know how hard it has been for the pub trade recently, battling through Covid, lockdowns and facing extra challenges brought about by rising prices. It's been tough for many places to keep their doors open and lights on.
"The staff at these pubs work hard and unsocial hours in order to provide us with a place to meet our friends and enjoy good times. The least we can do is give some recognition to the places that are going above and beyond."
Here is the shortlist:
- Anton Arms, Andover
- Bartons Mill, Old Basing
- The Andover Tap at the Lamb, Andover
- The Lion, Clanville
- The Malt House, Andover
- The Oak, Oakridge
- The Purefoy Arms, Preston Candover
- The Red Lion, Overton
- The Rising Sun, Basingstoke
- The Royal Oak, Goodford Clatford
