CROWDS gathered to enjoy this year's duck race in Andover town centre, organised by Anton Rotary Club.

Hundreds of people participated in the club’s annual event in the beautiful bank holiday weather, which was ideal conditions for the ducks to race.

Each race of six had 200 ducks vying for a lead on the way down to the winning post. Every race was sold out.

In addition to the ducks, Andover’s Men’s Sheds made and sold nearly 200 boats for the children to colour in and then take part in a race.

It also provided a number of traditional games for all the family to play such as crazy golf, splat the rat and, those who were brave enough put themselves into the stocks to receive a well-aimed sponge.

The Town Mills pub and the Travelling Cupcake provided a barbecue and ice creams, while music was provided by the Farnborough-based Quest Band, who played well-like songs and music throughout the races.

A spokesperson for Anton Rotary Club said: "The Anton Club would like to thank the people of Andover for attending the event and helping to make it a really fun bank holiday Monday, as well as an occasion to raise funds which will be going to Andover’s food bank to support it in these very difficult inflationary times.

"A massive thank you as well to those that sponsored the occasion, particularly the main sponsor, the Bathroom Collection, based beside the petrol station at Weyhill just outside of Andover.
