IT was a day full of nostalgia and rekindling old friendships, and one where a new book detailing Andover's musical history was launched.
On Saturday, May 27, Pete Staples launched his book Andover - A Musical History, alongside his co-compiler, John Walker, after 18 months of hard work.
The launch took place at the Salvation Army Hall, in Winchester Street.
Around 150 people congregated in the hall to get their copy of the book signed, which many had contributed to.

Pete decided to take on the task of compiling a book about the music in Andover, stemming back to the late 1800s to the present day, after putting together a small booklet.
The idea grew and has resulted in a detailed look at Andover's musical history.
All genres of music are covered in the book, including Andover Musical Theatre Company, Andover Choral Society, The Harmonium Singers, Andover Museum Loft Singers and most pop groups and bands from the 50s until the present day.
Pete said: "This has been a perfect launch for the book and it has achieved all that I’d hope with the musicians and artists that have entertained us through the years.

"It was a great opportunity for the musical community of Andover over the last 70 years or so to come together, mingle and chat, and enjoy something that we all have in common, which is the rich musical history stemming from this town."
Pete added: "I’m quite sure that Andover will continue to produce such good musicians and artists for future generations to enjoy."
