THIS video shows some of the fun from the Andover Carnival this weekend.

The town's popular carnival that brings together families and the community for a day of fun and festivities returned on Sunday, July 16.

The long-standing Andover Carnival was back again after it returned to town last year following a three-year hiatus.

All the fun in Vigo Park started at 12pm with acts taking to the stage whilst surrounded by food caterers, stalls, face painters, teddy tombola, circus workshops and a fun fair running throughout the day.

You can see much of the excitement in this video:

As well as this InAndover from the Andover BID brought the carnival spirit to the heart of the High Street, transforming it into a carnival wonderland.

Residents enjoyed live music, dance performances, choirs, and solo musicians, you can see a glimpse of this in the above video.

Speaking ahead of the carnival, Kevin Rush, carnival chair, said: "A whole year of work goes into this one-day but nothing compares to buzz of seeing so many people turn up and enjoy so many aspects of carnival day. Then once it's all over the buzz returns as we, hopefully, hand over two big cheques to two very worthy causes. We know Andover has a great community spirit, and I believe this is more evident on carnival day than at any other event throughout the year. We here on the committee can't wait to share the day with the town."

"Carnival Day is a highlight of the year for Andover, and we are delighted to bring the festivities directly to the High Street," added Andover BID's Shelley Coburn.

She continued: "By adding more entertainment and activities, we aim to create an immersive and memorable experience for everyone. It's an excellent opportunity for residents and visitors to celebrate our town and enjoy our local businesses."
