A VAN belonging to a company based in Andover has been spotted on the other side of the world.
The Mercedes refrigerated van used to belong to Hampshire Game Limited, an Andover-based company that is the largest company to purchase, process, distribute and export game in the South of England.
One eagle-eyed Advertiser reader spotted the van, still decked out in Hampshire Game livery, on Google Street View, parked on the roadside in none other than Kafountine, in the Ziguinchor Region in Senegal.
So just what is this Hampshire businesses van doing in Africa, has the company gone global?
A spokesperson for Hampshire Game told the Advertiser: "Small world. We sold the van a few years ago, it was deemed too expensive to MOT.
"We have had a few pictures sent through of the van, some from a fish market. I guess the refrigeration unit comes in handy."
It turns out that the current owner of the van has found use for it thousands of miles away.
Being a refrigerated van, it would make sense that a business or vendor at a fish market would deem it to be a worthy company vehicle.
Have you found any gems like this on Google Street View?
We'd love to hear from you.
