IT was a record-breaking year for Andover Carnival, with the biggest number of floats taking part in the much-loved event.
On Sunday, July 16, Andover was filled with joy, excitement and colourful costumes as the popular carnival returned.
All the fun started in Vigo Park at 12pm with acts taking to the stage whilst surrounded by food caterers, stalls, face painters, teddy tombola, circus workshops and a fun fair.
Crowds then lined streets in the town to watch the parade as it made its way through the town centre.
Over 25 groups participated in the procession, travelling from Weyhill Road, through Bridge Street, and up to Vigo Park.
Carnival attendees enjoyed vibrant floats, unique vehicles, lively dancers and drummers.
As well as this InAndover from the Andover BID brought the carnival spirit to the heart of the High Street, transforming it into a carnival wonderland.
This year, all the funds raised during the carnival will go towards supporting two local Andover charities, Me & My Dad Club and Koala Community Hub.
The carnival's organisers will present their take on the day at its AGM on Tuesday, July 25, at The Lights at 6.30pm.
A post on the carnival's Facebook page said: "We have talked at length on how to improve the event even further from more stalls, more on the High Street and even interactive judging, so we can bring you an even bigger, louder and brighter day next year."
A date has also been announced for next year's carnival, which will take place on Sunday, July 21.
