AN ANDOVER campaigner is delighted to have completed a tremendous seven-hour solo litter pick around Andover.
Manuela Wahnon, who runs an attitude of gratitude blog encouraging positivity and pride in our environment, decided to task herself to start an inaugural annual litter pick in Andover.
On Tuesday, August 1 she took to the streets of Andover to commemorate 15 years of helping the Test Valley environmental services with their Love Where You Live Campaign.
Speaking to the Advertiser about completing the task, she said: "I wanted to do a full shift working. I wanted to do the same shift that our environmental officers do and I feel like I have achieved my target. I hope I will be able to do the same thing again this time next year."

During her litter pick Manuela picked up a whole range of items including three bags of sealed dog poo, a filled disposable nappy, empty cigarette packets, newspapers sodden all the way through, cans bottles, polystyrene containers, string, plastic, a ball, crisp packets, sunglasses, sweet wrappers chocolate wrappers, paper packets and sheets of cellophane.
When speaking to the Advertiser she said she was particularly "disappointed" to see the number of dog poo bags which had just been tied up and left around the town instead of being put into bins.
During the seven-hour challenge, she reported a broken sign on Bentall Place which she said will now be fixed.
She said she "works closely with the environmental services" and always reports any graffiti that she sees around the town.

Manuela continued: “Today [the litter pick] was special for me, I was determined to fulfil my ambition of completing my first ever seven-hour solo litter pick.”
During the little pick, she also visited St Mary's Memorial Gardens.
On her blog, she posted: "To me, it is still part of the sacred grounds of St Mary's so just like litter that is anywhere near rivers or ponds, I will remove it without hesitation."
Other places she visited included Newbury Street, Church Close, The lights theatre, West Street Car Park, Wessex Gardens and Kilworth Court.
