RESIDENTS in Goodworth Clatford celebrated the bank holiday in style as a community with the annual village fete.
The fete was held on Monday, August 28 at Goodworth Clatford Village Club and was well attended by residents in the village and from across Andover and the surrounding area.
The fete regularly raises thousands of pounds for good causes in the local area, having done so for many years – except in 2020 due to the Covid lockdown. All the funds raised on the day will go to St Peter’s Church and other local community groups and charities.

A number of classic bikes were lined up for onlookers to have a peek at, along with games to take part in including a raffle and hook the duck. Also on offer were a number of food and drinks stands, ensuring there was something for everyone.
A number of local groups had stalls at the fete including Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Clatford Bellringers, Goodworth Clatford Women's Institute, Andover Model Railway Club and Guide Dogs.
Event organiser Jane Drew said: "It’s been a marvellous day and it's so great to see the whole community come out together - friends, families, and people from Andover and the surrounding villages.
"The sun has been shining all day and I hope we've raised a decent amount of money for all the different community groups within the village, but most of all I hope everyone has enjoyed the chance to catch up with family and friends.
The Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Philip Lashbrook was in attendance and presented trophies and rosettes to a number of winners in a variety of flower and vegetable-based categories.

Cllr Lashbrook said: "This is the second fete we have attended today, and it is such a privilege to be here to award the prizes and to just be here amongst all these people having a wonderful time.
"Jane has done such a marvellous job organising this village fete, and occasions like these are becoming few and far between these days, so it's important we continue to hold these events.
"Thank you to the community for turning up and contributing in some small way."
