A VOLUNTARY organisation that brings together those who need help to get to medical appointments with people offering to be volunteer drivers has appointed a new chair.
The Ludgershall and Tidworth Link Scheme has announced Ludgershall resident Peter Howson as its new chair.
As a former army padre, Peter brings considerable experience to his new role and said that he was delighted and honoured to replace Tony Pickernell in the position.
The scheme, which is one of 42 in Wiltshire, is always looking for new drivers and those who do volunteer will be reimbursed expenses at a rate of 45p a mile for their trips for the organisation.
Anyone who wishes to help out as a driver or use the service is asked to call 07717 627462.
