A CHARITY which helps adults learn to read is looking for volunteers in the Tidworth and Amesbury area.
Ready Easy’s vision is for all adults in the UK to have the literacy skills they need to realise their potential and live life to the full.
Read Easy South and East Wiltshire formed a year ago and has already paired up eight readers with coaches, who are making great progress.

It is now looking to fill a variety of roles including coaches, a local connector and positions in the management team.
Volunteer recruiter Ann Greaves said: “We are looking for volunteer coaches in Tidworth, Amesbury and surrounding areas. You will be fully trained and provided with all necessary materials – no previous teaching experience is necessary. We prefer coaches to meet readers in person, but it is also possible to coach online, or a mix of both. Sessions are scheduled twice a week and progress is at the reader’s pace. The process can take up to two years.
“We are also looking for a local connector who could take on a supervisory role, keeping in touch with local coach/reader pairs, checking local venues and reporting to the management team in Salisbury. Could you fill this role? We also have some management team roles to fill, please get in touch if you would be interested in safeguarding or coordinator roles – more details on the website.”

The group are also reaching out to potential readers who want to improve their reading skills.
Ann added: “Please talk to anyone you know at home or work who might benefit from hearing about us.
“It takes a lot of courage and determination to try again, but we are dedicated to helping.”
