A DEDICATED team of staff members from Andover's Countess of Brecknock Hospice pedalled their way to raise thousands of pounds.
On Tuesday, September 19, community palliative nurse specialist, Lorna Cousins, joined by hospice matron, Sarah McGaughey, along with a dedicated team of sisters, a staff nurse, a healthcare assistant, and the community doctor, cycled 50 miles across Test Valley and beyond.
The team stopped off at several surgeries en route, fostering connections with healthcare professionals in Stockbridge, Ludgershall, Sutton Scotney, Whitchurch, and Andover.

Lorna said: “It was an amazing day and we raised £2,000 for the hospice. We work with nine GP surgeries in our catchment area and they rose to the challenge and were on hand to meet us. Many of them had also fundraised and there were plenty of cakes and treats to keep us going.
“It was a great day, even the weather was good. “
The unique initiative reflected the collaborative spirit that exists between the hospice and its medical counterparts.
