ANDOVER Foodbank is looking for support to help those in need and give them a gift box or hamper this Christmas.
In 2022 the foodbank distributed more than 1,250 Christmas gift boxes and gift bags full of toys and gifts to care workers at agencies – more than in any previous year and demand this year is expected to be even greater.
The recipients included children supported by Children’s Services, Purple Oak, and Andover Young Carers.

The foodbank also gives Christmas hampers or bags of Christmas food to families and individuals, last year it distributed 945.
A spokesperson for the foodbank said: “Gift boxes and hampers help to alleviate the many financial pressures and allow people to celebrate Christmas rather than exist through it.”
The foodbank website has further information including a gift box leaflet, labels, and many gift ideas.

Gift boxes must be delivered to the foodbank by Friday, November 3.
Residents can also donate a Christmas hamper through the foodbank's ’12 days to Christmas’ initiative, in which there are 12 dates with 12 items starting on Wednesday, November 1, with a ‘bag for life’.
Hampers must be delivered by Sunday, November 26.
