The Andover Town Band performed a very special concert on Saturday, September 30, playing a reflective programme of Salvation Army music.
The event, held at the Salvation Army Hall in Andover, was organised to offer support to the band's soprano cornet player Simon Rowney, his wife Victoria, and their family and friends.
A number of weeks ago, Simon suffered a bleed on the brain and was subsequently rushed to hospital for urgent medical attention.

He was provided with excellent care by the team at the Wessex Neurology Unit at Southampton General Hospital and is now making good steady progress at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester where he continues his recovery.
A spokesperson from Andover Town Band said: "The appreciative and very generous audience made a retiring collection in excess of £800, which will be donated to the Wessex Neurology Unit. The Band would like to express a sincere thank you to everybody who attended and donated."
The next opportunity to listen to the band is at the popular Andover Remembers concert on Saturday, November 11, which will be held at the Andover Baptist Church, starting at 7pm.

The evening will follow a format similar to the famous annual event held at the Royal Albert Hall in London and will feature reflective music suitable for the occasion, contributions from the military, British Legion Standard Bearers and a traditional Act of Remembrance, including the Exhortation, Last Post, Two Minutes of Silence and Reveille.
The evening will offer an opportunity for the public of Andover to remember the brave men and women who have served their country and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The evening will be supporting the Royal British 2023 Poppy Appeal and enjoying a programme of excellent brass band music.
Tickets for Andover Remembers are available from David Mellor Jewellers in the Chantry Centre in Andover or by calling 01264 394 098. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £2.50 for children.
