A POPULAR pub in Andover and its customers have celebrated raising thousands by hosting Macmillan Coffee Mornings over the last nine years.

The event organised by the Foresters Arms has grown from strength to strength, with increasing donations each year, creating a much-anticipated morning that brings people together over coffee and cake.

The London Street pub, under the watchful eye of landlady Anne Watkins, has become synonymous with this heartfelt initiative, raising over £2,700 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Anne has said that one delightful aspect of this yearly tradition is the involvement of the Foresters Arms' male regulars, who earn 'brownie points' by taking fresh cakes home with them.

A pub spokesperson added: "It's an endearing part of the morning that adds a personal touch to the event, showcasing the genuine warmth and camaraderie among the patrons."

For six consecutive years, Greg Lloyd, a local at the pub, has played a significant role in the success of the Macmillan Coffee Mornings.

His remarkable generosity shines through as he bakes and donates every cake for the event.

While supporting Macmillan is a cornerstone of the Foresters Arms' community involvement, it is just one of the many charitable endeavours the pub participates in.

Anne expressed her heartfelt thanks to all those involved and emphasised the importance of continued support in making these charitable events successful.
