AN inspirational 89-year-old veteran who has sold poppies in an Andover supermarket for 12 years is doing his bit again this year.
Max Barnikel, who lives in Andover, has returned to the Waitrose store in the Chantry Centre to sell the red poppies.
Max said: "I just thought it was a really lovely thing to do. I love talking to people and people really love seeing me in the shop selling poppies, they always come up and talk to me."
