AN ANDOVER man has been selected to represent the town at the prestigious Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.
Rick Patient, a dedicated and proactive standard bearer, will take on the honourable responsibility on Saturday, November 11.
Known for his active participation in various events and ceremonies, Rick’s commitment to honouring and remembering veterans goes beyond his role as a standard bearer.
He attends training sessions and has been a regular presence at the Festival of Remembrance in Eastleigh.

Every year, he dedicates his time to three services for the Glider Pilot Association/Glider Pilot Regiment (GPA/GPR), including Armed Forces Day.
He has also been part of 23 funeral services for veterans' families, providing a solemn guard of honour for their final journey.
In addition to his ceremonial duties, Rick has played a vital role in the community by assisting with the annual poppy stall for the past five years.
He is a valued member of the Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Clubs (AFVBC), actively participating in six different branches, including Andover, Southampton Veterans Centre, Southampton East, Eastleigh, Ashby Kirby, and Portsmouth.
Rick is also fulfilling a promise to a fallen Chelsea Pensioner, Fred Abraham, who proudly carried the town standard for 23 years.
He said his representation at the Royal Albert Hall serves as a tribute to both Fred and a fellow serviceman.
