MAGISTRATES have banned a 47-year-old man from entering 10 shops in Andover and jailed for four months.

Over nearly a year, Paul Foakes-Tiffin, whose address was given as a solicitors in Winchester, carried out 11 offences and during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 9, he was jailed.

The court heard that Foakes-Tiffin stole items worth between £150 and £200 from Sainsbury’s in Andover on Tuesday, August 8. On Monday, August 7, he took spirits worth £80 from the same store.

On March 18 he stole a bottle of Champagne to the value of £54 from Sainsbury’s in Portswood Road, Southampton, and assaulted a man on the same road.

On February 2 he carried out several offences at Rosebourne Garden Centre, in Amesbury Road, Andover.

He assaulted three men at the garden centre and used threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour. He also stole a beer.

On January 30 he stole two energy drinks worth £3.80 from Tesco in Compton Square, and on December 11, last year, he took alcohol to the value of £190 from Sainsbury’s.

Magistrates jailed Foakes-Tiffin for his “flagrant disregard for people and their property”.

He was also banned from entering 10 stores in Andover for 27 months. These are:
