POLICE in Andover have worked to crack down on knife crime in the town, with preventive measures taking place this week.
Hampshire Constabulary has joined forces nationwide for Operation Sceptre which brings together all 43 police forces and British Transport Police to tackle knife crime in a week of intensified action.
Officers from Andover Neighbourhood Policing Team have been carrying out searches for knives in open areas across the town.
The searches aimed to “reduce risk and make these places safer for members of the community.”
