Reports have suggested that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May have quit Prime Video's much-loved TV show The Grand Tour.

The trio launched the show in 2016 after they departed from BBC's Top Gear, much to fans delight.

Top Gear itself was put on a hiatus last week.

Now, Clarkson, 63, May, 60, and Hammond, 52, no longer want to film the Amazon Prime show, according to the Sun.

“The Grand Tour is one of Prime Video’s most watched shows and Jeremy, James and Richard have a devoted following," a TV insider told the paper.

"But the guys have made no bones about the fact they’re all advancing in years and they have lots of other projects to pursue.

"They just felt like the time was right and wanted to go out on a high when the show remained popular.”

Special episodes based on the trio's adventures in Mauritania and Zimbabwe are still yet to air.

Clarkson and May both also have their own separate Amazon shows - 'Clarkson's Farm' - set in Oxfordshire - and May's 'Our Man In...'

Future of Top Gear

The BBC hit motoring show will be halted for the “foreseeable future” following a crash during filming last year which left host Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff seriously injured.

Production of the show has since come to a standstill when former England cricket captain Flintoff, 45, was rushed to hospital in December 2022 after he was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey.

The BBC announced that production would be paused on the show, which is co-presented by Take Me Out host Paddy McGuinness and automotive journalist Chris Harris, after the crash as it felt “inappropriate” to continue and that a health and safety review would be underway.
