A MAN has been publicly recognised for his "exceptional" acts of gratitude and service in the community.
Sultan 'Sid' Dajani was presented with the 'Attitude of Gratitude' award by the Mayor and Mayoress of Test Valley, Councillors Phil and Linda Lashbrook.
Attitude of Gratitude Campaigner Manuela Wahnon, who is behind the awards, organised the presentation to Mr Dajani to recognise his outstanding contributions to the community.
During the Covid pandemic, Mr Dajani, who is a pharmacist, worked 18 hour days as part of the vaccine programme, and at the time said he provided vaccines “every time the pharmacy door shuts".
Mr Dajani is also part of The DeeDee Trust and is a big supporter of the Pride of Andover Awards.
Sultan was given the award on Sunday, December 10, for his exceptional dedication of gratitude and service.
Approximately 70 distinguished individuals braved the wind and rain and gathered at the public ceremony outside of the Guildhall.
The mayor delivered a speech about Mr Dajani and the significance of his well-deserved accolade, stating that thanks to his work with vaccine delivery during the pandemic, Mr Dajani has "touched the lives of everyone in the UK".
He added: "There is no one more worthy for this award."
Manuela said "Sultan Sid Dajani's dedication to his community is exemplary", and it was his "unwavering commitment" that led her to select him as the recipient of the 23rd award.
She continued: "His selfless contributions have made a significant impact in the Andover community and beyond, making him a shining example of what can be achieved through compassion and dedication."
Past award winners, including Karen Hamilton, Christine Mellor, Julian Chen, Rev Jill Bentall, Varinder Bale, Ben Walton and Muhammad Bilal, were in attendance to celebrate the occasion and offer their heartfelt congratulations to Mr Dajani.
Manuela said: "Attitude of Gratitude continues to inspire and motivate others to make a positive impact, reminding us all of the power of a grateful heart.
"This year's celebration served as a poignant reminder of the incredible potential for change when individuals come together to honour those who make the world a better place."
