PROPOSED works on a major Andover road have been delayed just days before they were due to start.
SGN had been due to start work on The Avenue in Andover to replace its old metal gas mains and services with new plastic pipes, with contractor Clancy carrying out the works.
The work, expected to take around six weeks, had been due to start between Monday, January 8 and Friday, January 19.

However, after the Advertiser contacted SGN on Thursday, January 4 it was revealed that the works to replace the gas mains and services will be delayed.
Rescheduled dates have not yet been confirmed, although SGN said it will contact residents once the work has been rescheduled.
A spokesperson for SGN said: "I’ve heard from the project team that the start date has been delayed and we’ll be in touch with residents once work has been rescheduled."
The Advertiser has asked SGN why the works have been delayed.
