ANDOVER resident and councillor Luigi Gregori has been selected by the local Liberal Democrats as the prospective parliamentary candidate for the constituency of North West Hampshire for the next general election.
Cllr Gregori is a member of both Andover Town and Test Valley Borough councils representing the ward of Harroway.
In 2019 he ran for Parliament, nearly doubling the Lib Dem vote share and pushed Labour into third place.

Responding to his selection, Cllr Gregori said: “I am grateful to have the privilege of representing the Liberal Democrats at the next General Election. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members who voted for me, and I am humbled by the many kind words and faith that people have expressed in me.
"Together we can continue to make a big difference especially within the current political climate. As a party, the Liberal Democrats stand for issues such as social justice, community and individual rights which too often are ignored by the other major parties. As the local main challenger to the Conservatives, we have a responsibility to provide a viable alternative to an out of touch government which is failing to deliver.”
Cllr Robin Hughes, Andover party chair, welcomed the selection of Cllr Gregori.
He said: “I have worked with Luigi for many years. He is an effective local champion and offers a clear choice to voters.”
Basingstoke and Deane Borough councillor from Tadley, Jo Slimin said: “Luigi is an excellent choice and is not afraid to get stuck into issues. He has also consistently campaigned in support of local Lib Dems in Basingstoke and Deane.”
