EDUCATION group which owns Andover College has appointed a former teacher to its board of governors.
Sparsholt College Group has appointed former secondary school teacher Amanda Rowley to join its board of governors.
Amanda, who began teaching foreign languages in Newcastle upon Tyne before working as a headteacher at the Wavell School in Hampshire for 18 years, says she is thrilled to have been appointed
She added: "I am thrilled about the opportunity to continue my journey as a lifelong learner and contribute my skills and experience to the Sparsholt College Group.

“I look forward to working with the board to oversee the strategic direction and performance of the college."
Julie Milburn, principal and chief executive of Sparsholt College Group, expressed her enthusiasm for Amanda's appointment, saying: "We are delighted to welcome Amanda Rowley to the board of governors.
“Her wealth of experience in education, leadership, and community engagement will undoubtedly strengthen our team as we navigate the future of Sparsholt College Group."
During Amanda’s time working as a headteacher, she helped develop a Special Needs Resource Provision at Wavell School and secured substantial grant funding.
Sparsholt College Group, which includes both Andover College and Sparsholt College and University Centre, provides further and higher education courses in a range of subjects including agriculture, sport, accounting, and bricklaying.
