A WOMAN has died following a crash on the A303 near Stonehenge.
The crash involving a HGV and a car happened shortly before 10am this morning, Tuesday, January 23, and the driver of the car, a woman in her 60s, died at the scene.
Police said that the A303 remains closed following the crash this morning, in which a woman died.
Emergency services were called to the eastbound carriageway near to Stonehenge shortly before 10am following a crash involving an HGV and a car.
Wiltshire Police said: "The female driver of the car, a woman in her 60s from Bath, sadly died at the scene.
"Her next of kin has been informed and are being supported by a specialist-trained officer. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
"The driver of the HGV was uninjured.
"A closure was put in place at Countess roundabout and Longbarrow roundabout. This remains in place at this time.
"Enquiries are currently ongoing."
