AN ARTIST is launching an exhibition exploring personal mythology, loss and alternate realities in Andover.
Chapel Arts Studios (CAS) has announced that solo show ‘A Stubbornly Persistent Illusion’, featuring the work of Emily Jane Campbell, will be taking over The Chapel in St Mary’s Cemetery.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is a collection titled 'Henge,' where Campbell draws inspiration from the imagery and ceremony of henges, cairns and totemic memorial constructions.

The artist uses oil paint and mixed media to bring mystical landscapes to life, incorporating photographs, childhood memories and her imagination.
Campbell reimagines locations from her past, idealising treasured places with fluorescent portals and dark holes and combining personal memories with the wider themes of existence.
‘A Stubbornly Persistent Illusion’ is open at The Chapel, in St Mary’s Cemetery in New Street from Thursday, February 8 to Saturday, March 9. Opening hours are Thursday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm.
