Staff have been praised in the report for their strong relationships with the children, it continues: “Staff know the children well. They seek information from parents about what their child can already do before they start nursery and build on this.”
Inspectors also noted that staff “carefully observe the children's interests and progress and use this information to plan a varied and interesting curriculum that covers all areas of learning.”
“Children and staff have warm relationships, and the key-person system is effective. Staff quickly build a rapport with babies and offer plenty of cuddles and support for new starters.”: the report continues which it notes ensures a ‘really strong emotional bond’ with children.
Safeguarding arrangements are also noted to be effective, with “an open and positive culture that puts children’s interests first”.
However, inspectors have noted that staff interactions could be ‘extended’ to provide more consistent support for children to ‘engage fully in their learning’ as well as “enhance staff’s understanding of how to acknowledge and value the diverse nature of the children attending, including those who are learning English as an additional language.”
