A STAR of the Netflix series Vikings: Valhalla visited the Hawk Conservancy Trust near Andover.
Wiltshire-born David Oakes met Sage the Tawny Owl on a tour of the award-winning wildlife site, continuing his passion for birds and wildlife.
The trip brought back many happy memories of visiting the centre as a child with his family, while learning about its conservation work with birds of prey both in the UK and overseas.

David met some of the most threatened birds on the planet – vultures – during his visit and heard about the trust’s work to conserve them.
David frequently discusses the natural world with guests on his Trees a Crowd podcast, but this time his chat with the Hawk Conservancy Trust’s Tom Morath will feature on the charity’s own Nature’s a Hoot podcast, published on Friday, March 1.
The podcast is available at hawk-conservancy.org/podcast.
