A WEYHILL care home welcomed members of the public and civic dignitaries to look around following significant investment.
Rothsay Grange Care Home held an open day on Thursday, February 29, to celebrate its new look.
The home’s resident ambassador Peter welcomed the Mayor and Mayoress of Test Valley councillors Philip and Linda Lashbrook, along with Barchester’s Managing Director (South) Natasha Lazovic.
General manager and Peter cut the ribbon, before Cllr Lashbrook shared memories of Rothsay over the years and expressed how delighted he was to have witnessed its current transformation.

Visitors then had the opportunity to have a tour of the home to see the wonderful work that has been done, join in a party taking place on the first floor as well, and enjoy a delicious buffet prepared by the home’s chefs, while a pianist played in the background.
Speaking on the day, Gemma said: “A huge thank you to the mayor for coming along to declare our refurbishment officially open, I think everyone who has come along today will agree that the home looks fantastic. Residents, family and friends have all been very patient while the work was going on but I think that they will all feel that it was worth it.
“Today has been a wonderful celebration of what has been achieved, and I would just like to thank the staff teams around the home who have all contributed to making the day special; it has been an amazing team effort. Rothsay has taken a huge leap forward into its future and we are all excited to be sharing it with our residents, family and friends.”

She continued: “If there was anyone who was unable to attend our open day and who would still like to come and visit us my door is always open, and while I can’t promise a party every day, our lovely new café area always has tea, coffee, cakes and more available!”
Rothsay Grange Care Home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers. It provides residential care, nursing care and dementia care for 66 residents from respite care to long term stays.
