AN ANDOVER man was arrested in connection with supplying Class A drugs after being stopped by officers.

Police from the from the Northern Neighbourhood Enforcement Team spotted the man near Colenzo Drive at around 11am on Thursday, March 21, before approaching him.

After being approached the man ran but was detained by officers following a short foot chase.

Wraps of suspected Class A drugs were found, amidst other drug paraphernalia.

The 35-year-old man from Andover was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

He remains in police custody while Hampshire Constabulary continue their enquiries.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "The arrest forms part of our wider work to disrupt the supply of Class A drugs in Andover.
