AN ANDOVER woman has been fined hundreds of pounds for fly-tipping cardboard boxes outside a supermarket.
On May 1, 2023, an officer from Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) found a number of cardboard boxes dumped in the Tesco Extra car park, in River Way.
Information found within the waste led officers to Maria Dias, of Mundy Road, Picket Piece.

Dias appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on March 19, and pleaded guilty to the fly-tip. She was handed a fine of £200 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 in addition to court costs of £300.
Paul Wykes, head of environmental services at TVBC, said: "This result illustrates our zero-tolerance policy on fly-tipping and demonstrates that you will be prosecuted if you are found doing so.
"Our teams work incredibly hard to try and keep the borough clean and the clearing up for these types of incidents takes up valuable time, money and resources.”
