THIS year the Andover Choral Society will be celebrating the incredible 300th anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach's first performance of 'St John Passion'.
This exciting work will be performed in Andover on Saturday, May 4 in St Mary’s Church at 7.30pm.
Bach dramatically writes the story of Christ’s betrayal, suffering and death to create a beautiful work, sung in English, which includes one of Bach’s most exquisite choruses 'Sleep well'.
Gareth Malone recently described this work as his favourite and also called it challenging and important when he presented it over Easter.
