RESIDENTS at an Andover care home have been enjoying a whole range of activities including using a zip wire during an exciting launch of a new club.
People at Ashbourne Court Care Home, in Salisbury Road, enjoyed a day of fun exercise and healthy treats at the opening of their new community ‘Four Seasons Feel Good Club’.
The new club aims to bring residents, carers, family members and people living in the community the opportunity to get together for a series of fun, feel-good activities throughout the year.
After an armchair yoga session and a game of Whack-A-Mole, residents donned safety helmets to have a go on a wheelchair zip wire that team members had set up between the dining room and the lounge.

Resident Phyllis said: “What a fantastic day. I particularly liked going down the zip wire, I never ever thought I would be able to say I’d done that.”
There were squeals of delight and laughter as residents sped down the corridor, cheered on by their friends.
The afternoon was spent making fresh fruit kebabs and fruit flans to have for tea and trying out a range of pudding-inspired smoothies whizzed up by the home’s chef, including carrot cake, key lime pie, strawberry shortcake and apple pie.
The care home’s Magic Moments coordinator, Helen Bennett, added: “Our new Four Seasons Feel Good Club is proving to be a real hit with our residents and includes a wide range of activities to benefit the mind, body and soul. The club is open to everyone, so it’s a great way to keep our residents connected to their local community.

"We hope people living locally will come along and join us for future sessions – it’s free, fun and a great way to meet new people.
“We’ll be hosting activities every month, with something for everyone, whatever their interests and abilities. From exercise classes to laughter yoga, adapted sports and games to singing classes and social get-togethers for a cuppa and chat and reminiscence sessions.”
