AN ANDOVER resident is putting his strength to the test for a good cause.
Bobby Mackie, 53, has embarked on a month-long challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Throughout April, Bobby is doing 100 push-ups every day, aiming for a total of 3,000 by month's end.
This is his first fundraising endeavour, and it holds a deeply personal significance for him.

Both his parents died of bowel cancer. His two grans had cancer and his uncle also died a couple of years ago due to cancer.
"It's very deep-running in my family," Bobby said. "It's very emotional. And even when I get to the last 10 reps I have to do, they go through my mind."
Despite the physical challenge, Bobby finds strength in his purpose.
"It's a challenge for me. I can feel it on my shoulders and back. But I know I'm doing it for a very good reason," he said.
Bobby said he completes his challenge in four batches first thing in the morning.
“I do it in sets of 25 at a time and I do it first thing because I want it out of the way,” he added.
Bobby initially set a fundraising target of £500 and has already garnered significant support, reaching more than £450 so far.
