A PAIR of runners from Overton are celebrating after completing a massive 86-mile running challenge.
Nick Reedman, 35, and Gregor Restell, 41, completed their fundraising challenge, which saw them complete the London Marathon before running the 60-miles home to Overton on Sunday, April 21.
The pair managed to complete the marathon in just under five hours, with a time of four hours and 58 minutes, which Nick called a “warm-up” to their challenge of then running home.

He said: “We weren’t too fussed about the time for the London Marathon, because we had the additional 60 miles afterwards. The London Marathon was a warm-up, but it was still quite a task, and once we’d finished we had run it pretty well to be fair.
“We had the additional 60 afterwards so we had that in our minds, so we had to be disciplined.”
Nick and Gregor completed the challenge to raise money for the wish-granting charity Dreams Come True, raising £7,525 at time of writing.
Nick said: “It’s amazing because our target originally was £4,000 and we were just aiming to get in or around that marker and anything above that would have been incredible.
“To be where we at now is unreal, but the support from everyone has been unbelievable from the start, from the donations on the day – and beforehand we had fundraising nights, such as race nights at the pub – it all really helped the fundraising.

“Everyone since the word go has been with us with the donations, but it’s been unreal. More than £7,000 was something we couldn’t have dreamed of really, but we’re really thankful for it.”
He continued: “We had a support crew with us, there’s been a right team of us!
“We want to thank Holly Reedman and Kerry Harris, and both our partners – Emma Restell and Jill Oakes – they were great support from the start with the fundraising. They pretty much took all the fundraising off us and the ideas so we could focus on the running. So, they’ve been brilliant from the start really.”
