AN ANDOVER contractor is celebrating a milestone anniversary of providing electrical installation services throughout the south of England.

Spear Electrical Ltd, based at Towergate Industrial Park in Colebrook Way, held a celebratory party at the Oak in Smannell on Sunday, May 12, to thank staff, friends, and family for the success of the company and their support over the past 25 years.

Spear Electrical was founded with a focus on servicing and maintaining electrical installations across the Test Valley Borough Council Estate.

When those initial contracts ended, the company faced a period of uncertainty. However, managing director Brian Comley and his colleague Chris Scott saw an opportunity.

Within 12 months, they purchased the struggling company from large building contractor Spear and King Ltd and embarked on a journey to build a successful independent business.

"Just 10 per cent of UK companies are older than 20 years, and we are delighted to have made it to our silver jubilee," said Mr Comley.

"The early days were difficult, but our friendship, loyalty and hard work have seen us through. Now, we have an amazing team of engineers and staff alongside us. I couldn't be prouder."

Spear Electrical is a fully accredited NICEIC company that offers electrical installation services to commercial, industrial, and domestic clients throughout the region.

The company is known for its expertise in designing, building, and maintaining complex electrical installations across a wide range of facilities.

"One of the most rewarding experiences has been training and developing the talented young apprentices and trainees who have come on board Spear Electrical," said Mr Scott.

"They are the lifeblood of the company. The results they achieve speak for themselves. The majority of our work is repeat business, and feedback tells us we are selected for our high levels of service and exacting standards.

"We simply couldn’t do what we do without the professionalism, determination and hard work of the engineering team and we plan to continue to build on this program of developing young talented individuals from the local area."
