THE folk-rock duo 'Zervas & Pepper' are taking a break from their own songwriting to tour the music of iconic songwriter Joni Mitchell.
Their show, 'This Flight Tonight-The Songs of Joni Mitchell', is set to perform at The Lights, Andover on July 27.
The show will present a journey through Mitchell's first eight albums - from the folk house sound of Song to Seagull, Ladies of the Canyon and Blue, to the cinematic pop of Hissing of Summer Lawns and Court and Spark.
The five-piece band will feature open-tuned guitars, bass/conga, dulcimer, harmonies, and piano, bringing Joni's songs as close to her early performances as possible.
The duo expressed that their bond was initially formed over a shared love for Mitchell's music.
Describing her as a brutally honest lyricist who always strives for the extraordinary, they cited Mitchell as their musical compass throughout their careers.

They are elated to showcase the music that initially ignited their passion for songwriting.
Acknowledging that many UK fans haven't had the opportunity to see Mitchell perform live, the team felt performing her songs as close as possible to the original would be a thrilling experience for her audience.
The pair admitted they relish the challenge of presenting Mitchell's music, with songs that feel fresh every night and provide new discoveries within the music.
