AN ANDOVER resident is transforming his cancer diagnosis into a special fundraising campaign.

Jonathan Sparkes is raising money for The Countess of Brecknock Hospice, where he is currently provided with care.

Born with a genetic disorder and reliant on an electric wheelchair, Jonathan seeks to achieve as much as possible from his bucket list.

One of these goals is raising money for the hospice through an unusual method. Jonathan, unable to engage in physically challenging activities like abseiling or racing, has opted for a distinctive route.

He dyed his hair shocking pink, sported it for a few weeks, then bravely shaved it off in order to raise both awareness and funds. So far, this endeavour has led to £1,500 being added to the hospice's account.

In addition to this, Jonathan's bucket list has seen him partake in some memorable moments.

He’s attended Six Nations rugby matches in Cardiff, visited various theatres, and experienced the charms of the London Eye.

A keen lover of speedy vehicles, a visit to the Thruxton Touring Cars and Silverstone Formula 1 event later this year is also on his list.

The Countess of Brecknock Hospice offers immense comfort and support to patients enduring life-limiting conditions along with their families.

Primarily reliant on voluntary donations, the hospice delivers irreplaceable care to the community.

Jonathan's JustGiving page is still accepting donations as he urges everyone to help him exceed his current fundraising target.
