PARENTS in Hampshire who want their children to be considered for school transport in September 2024 are urged to submit their applications on time.
Hampshire County Council has advised that school transport is accessible to children from their fifth birthday until Year 11.
Mainstream school students must apply by Friday, May 31; children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) have until Sunday, June 30.
Those already receiving school transport need not act, unless circumstances like home or school changes have occurred.

At Year 11’s end, however, eligibility ceases for free transport and alternate arrangements are necessary post-16, even if students remain in the same setting.
Post-16 Transport, available under certain conditions for SEND young adults, requires yearly applications and partial financial contributions, with June 30, 2024, being the current deadline.
The Council states application results will arrive within 15 working days, with final transport details released by the end of August.
