The Army Flying Museum in Middle Wallop is preparing to commemorate D-Day 80 with a series of insightful talks from Monday, June 3 till Monday, June 10.

Notably, the event will shed light on different aspects of the historic landings on June 6, 1944.

The festivities kick off on Monday, June 3 as the museum hosts Chris Cox, a specialist aerial photographic interpreter.

Cox's presentation involves an interactive illustrated discussion shedding light on Operation OVERLORD through a unique aerial perspective.

Attendees can contribute their personal memories or family accounts tied to this significant juncture in history.

On D-Day's 80th anniversary, Thursday, June 6, Tony Bray will narrate the riveting story of the glider assault on the Caen Canal and River Orne bridges.

Attendees will get a chance to view the actual gliders used while learning about the prestigious Glider Pilot Regiment, formed 82 years ago.

The narrative, punctuated with recorded interviews with surviving Regiment veterans, extends an immersive experience and pays tribute to one of the Second World War's most renowned flying achievements.

Wrapping up the series on Monday, June 10, well-known aviation historian, broadcaster and author Paul Beaver returns to the museum with a special talk.

Beaver will reveal secrets of the D-Day success focusing on deception, influence, and innovative methods that accelerated France's liberation.

The talk, complemented with a live Q&A session, can be accessed both in-person and via a live stream from the museum.

The Army Flying Museum continues to make its mark as a paramount Hampshire attraction.

Its recently unveiled Apache AH Mk.1 exhibit was formally inaugurated by King Charles III.
