A GROUP of primary school children were 'enthralled' when they recently received a visit from several birds of prey.
The children from Vernham Dean School took part in a workshop by Two Birds Experiences and Education.
The pupils met three birds, two owls and a hawk, as well as stick insects as they learnt about habitats and adaptation.

Ten-year-old Mollie Wills said her favourite part was "meeting the birds, especially when Boomslang the owl flew over our heads", while classmate Pippa Nutley said "it was really interesting to learn what all the different animals do to protect themselves".
Senior teacher Holly Bulpitt added: "The children were enthralled by the animals we were lucky enough to meet.
"By answering and asking questions the children showed off their knowledge they have gained through our creative curriculum.
"Opportunities like this are one of the many things that make our small school with a big heart so special."
