AN ANDOVER care home's management company has claimed a top industry accolade.

AgeCare, manager of Millway House in Andover, claimed Best Care Home Development at the prestigious Care Home Awards this year.

This news follows AgeCare’s significant growth and digital transformation within the past year.

The care home operator's achievements include the strategic acquisition of nine homes in February and July 2023.

Seven of these newly-acquired homes transitioned from paper-based operations to digital, indicating AgeCare's commitment to embracing technology in delivering exceptional care.

AgeCare now uses various digital systems for management, care planning, compliance, accounting, payroll, and staff rostering.

The provider is currently rolling out several other systems, including an incident management system and a digital medicine system, while developing their own inhouse systems and a digital skills training programme for staff.

Changes also brought real-time communication benefits, with manager meetings now held via Microsoft Teams.

AgeCare has bolstered their capability by onboarding an in-house network and IT systems specialist, and a digital marketing expert.

Chief executive Dr Vishen Ramkisson said: "We have been going through an ambitious digital transformation, and over the last 12 months we have implemented new ways of doing things that could normally take three to five years. I’m delighted that my team’s hard work has now been recognised with this prestigious award.

"This is our second award in our first year of operations, and I’m immensely proud."
