WELL what a weekend supporting charities of worthy causes. Friday evening May 31st from 10.30pm till 12am midnight we had a domestic abuse charity fundraiser. It was a relaxing swim with sauna and steamroom, it was so nice that men also took part, plus we all received a goodie bag.
This event was supported by Places Leisure, part of Places for People, thank you very much for your support. I would also like to thank the people that donated on the night. We had such excellent feedback from that evening to raise money and awareness for Finding Freedom from Abuse, there is no excuse for it, everyone has the right to be safe and feel safe. We will be doing this event again.
Finding Freedom from Abuse supports women, men, young people and children in the Test Valley area that have been affected by domestic and sexual abuse whether you are still in a relationship, looking at leaving or have already left and are still experiencing abuse. Their services enable survivors of abuse to know that they are not alone and can get help to move them forward with their lives.
Finding Freedom is a registered charity. Enquiries@findingfreedom.org.uk.
My next community event was the Soap Box Derby 2024.

Thank you to Kevin Rush and his team. This event was supported by an awful lot of people from Andover and outside. My goodness it was a great event. I was lucky to have a judging place by sponsoring to be a judge. What a lot of hard work has gone into making these soapboxes, there were six of us judging, including their golden sponsors.
Soap Box Derby 24 was raising awareness and money for Andover Foodbank which is an absolute lifeline to anyone in our community should they have to face going hungry. That’s why they provide three days nutritional balanced energy food and support to local people who are referred to them in a crisis. What a great community we have in Andover.
On D-Day we had a church service in St Mary’s Church and the lighting of the beacon in the church grounds. I must say thank you to all those people that fought in the war for us to be able to be here and enjoy what we have today.
Looking forward to more events in Andover. Please come and support.
