ANDOVER Photographic Club's last founding member is retiring dedicating over 40 years to the society.

John Randall, known as the very backbone of the club, has most recently held roles as competition secretary and secretary, steering the club to success.

Despite his retirement, he's continued to judge internal competitions, helped choose images for the Southern Counties Photographic Federation League, and lent a hand in other contests.

As an accredited SCPF judge, John's expertise is recognised beyond club borders.

John Randall receiving an award in recognition of his 40 years plus of service (Image: Supplied) John's departure leaves a large shutter to fill and he told the committee that as founder member, he viewed the club as partly his baby, and said he would do anything he could to keep it going.

He promised to continue to support the club in any way he could and said it had been a privilege to serve the club over the years.

Andover Photographic Club, frequented by photographers of all abilities, gathers every Thursday from September till May, offering a varied agenda packed with professional talks, demonstrations, competitions, and practical sessions on diverse photographic genres.
