TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of drugs supply offences after officers searched a car in Andover.

Police stopped a vehicle in Saxon Way just after 4pm on Saturday, June 15.

During a search of the car, police found wraps of suspected Class A drugs, as well as mobile phones and cash.

A wrench, a Stanley knife and half a pool cue were also found by officers.

The driver, a 30-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of a drug driving offence, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

The passenger, a 24-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, possession of a controlled drug of Class B and possession of an offensive weapon.

Both men are released on police bail with conditions until Sunday, September 15, whilst police carry out further enquiries.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "These arrests form part of our wider work to disrupt the supply of Class A drugs in Andover and protect people from drug-related harm.
