RAINY weather couldn't dampen the spirits at the harmonious Voices in Harmony and Midsummer Magic concert Andover.

Despite the wet weather on Saturday, June 15, the event, in aid of Andover Trees United (ATU) kicked off as planned with performances taking place both outside and indoors.

In the midst of unexpected rain and bouts of sunshine, attendees enjoyed a mix of traditional and modern music.

Noteworthy performances included celebrated folk artist Jackie Oates and the lively Mayfly Morris troupe.

As the sun broke through the clouds, guests were able to walk among the wild grasses and flowers, with the music as a backdrop.

There was a break in the festivities for afternoon tea, attendees were treated to a selection of treats, as they spoke about music and friends who have died.

The event was run largely thanks to individuals' hard work and dedication, including Ms Oates, the singers, the dancers, and the dynamic Mayfly Morris.

Behind the scenes, Katie Sell, ATU’s ecology intern for 2024, and a band of dedicated volunteers also received heartfelt appreciation for their part in the day's success.

The occasion was not just about the music and dance but also highlighted the importance of communal togetherness in maintaining and preserving these rich cultural traditions.

The shared happiness and camaraderie amongst the attendees made a significant and lasting impact, marking the day as truly unforgettable for those present.

In wrapping up, the Andover Trees United expressed deep gratitude towards everyone who joined them in celebrating despite the rainy weather, keeping the spirit of music, dance, and remembrance alive in the community.
