A TEE-RIFIC golf day has raised thousands for a school for children with life-long learning disabilities.
Mark Thorne organised the event on Sunday, May 26, at Andover Golf Club, with 60 players going along to take part in aid of Icknield School.
During the event a raffle was held, which including prizes donated by various companies, and was conducted by Mark’s daughter Amy who works at Icknield as a teaching assistant and his wife Teresa.
All of the 10 holes were sponsored by different companies.

Mark said: “We can't thank everyone enough for all their kind generosity whether it prizes or hole sponsors, you’re all amazing.”
In total the day raised £3,600. Mark presented the cheque to Icknield headteacher Sean Cannon, who allowed him to attend an assembly with staff and pupils.
Mark continued: “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Andover Golf Club for allowing me to hold this event there to which I am also a member of.”
He added a ‘huge thank you’ to Tidworth and Garrison Golf Club, Test Valley Golf Club and Sherfield Oaks Golf Club for donating four-ball golf days as auction prizes.
