This Is My Theatre returns this summer with another Shakespeare adaptation, following successful productions of The Comedy of Errors and The Tempest.
The company will present their take on A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Bard's beloved story, spiced up with music, magic, and mischief.
The setting toggles the bustling Athenian woods where young lovers lose their way, fairy royalties feud, and craftsmen secretly rehearse a play.
The production's fascinating blend of love, false identities, and enchantment aims to captivate viewers globally. The critically acclaimed production promises to entertain audiences anew.
Sarah Slator, Artistic Director of TIMT said: "We are very much looking forward to our Spring/Summer tours this year. We have created this adaptation to be fun and vibrant to capture imaginations and engage audiences of all ages.
"We are really excited to be continuing our Summer tradition of magical, family-friendly and comedic Shakespeare in historic places and atmospheric spaces. Always a firm favourite with company members and audiences, this production of the much-loved play will remain faithful to the original text whilst also suited to the beautiful venues we are due to visit. This will offer our audiences a magical telling and bring to life these well-known characters for the stage.
"Suitable for audiences of all ages and with live music throughout arranged by the company’s Resident Composer Simon Stallard our adaptation of William Shakespeare’s hilarious love story is packed with merriment, music and plenty of mischief and is sure to be all that This Is My Theatre audiences have come to love about our shows!"
The show will run at St Nicholas' Church (with a portion of proceeds going towards the upkeep of the venue) on Thursday 25th July at 7pm.
